Guide for the Bride was first published over 15 years ago after we were approached by bridal retailers who were unhappy with the publications available.
They told us they wanted:
Regional books rather than Westcountry wide.
Competitive advertising rates. Guide for the Bride is published once a year, for many businesses advertising budgets are limited and a bridal publication which covers the whole year rather than two editions a year was considered to be an advantage.
Rather than help the already fraught Bride, wading through pages and pages of advertising for one service merely causes confusion. From an advertisers prospective an overload of any one service is bad value hence a limited numbers of each business represented within the book was very high on the agenda.
An easy to follow logical layout for the book was essential. It seems many Brides find magazines rather confusing when they are looking for good honest advice and quality services.
They were concerned that often they could not find paid magazines on sale. It was considered that having books to give to the Bride as a gift at Bridal Fayres, in retail outlets or by post was ideal.

There will be limited space available within the book for advertising each kind of business.
Guide for the Bride is also now available online - which can be linked to an advertisers website.
